for challenging your friends to guess the next play in a football game
Features
- Scrimmage is a game in which you try to guess the next play the offense is going to run in a football game, similar to what many bars and restaurants have available.
- With this iPhone app, you can either play solo, or you can compete against your friends who also have the app, with one person acting as commissioner. Try to guess the next play! Run right? Pass deep left? Trick play? Points are given for each correct or partially correct guess.
Gameplay
- Host New Game: Will start the Commissioner server and wait on connection from another player. Scores are reset to zero.
- Host Saved Game: Will start the Commissioner server and wait on connection from another player. Player list and scores from the last run multiplayer game are preloaded. Upon reconnecting to the server, previous players will be identified from the unique ID their device presents. It may take a round or two before two scores are identified as the same player and are merged automatically.
- Join Game: Loads a list of available Commissioner servers to which the player can connect. When the Commissioner unlocks picks, the pick screen will be displayed to the user and they can choose the play they think is being run next. When the player selects a play, they will be given the Player Scores screen to wait on the results of the play. Once the Commissioner chooses the play that was actually run, the updated scores will display.
- Play Solo: Does not start a Commissioner server. Player can choose plays and pick actual play that was run, and the game will track the player's score.
- Re-establishing games: If the Commissioner exits the app or loses connection, all players will drop. When the Commissioner restarts the app and chooses Host Saved Game, players will be able to restart their apps and choose Join Game to rejoin the game that was in progress. Players can drop in and out of the game while the Commissioner server is running. They will accrue no points if not active at the start of a round. It may take a round or two before two scores are identified as the same player and are merged automatically.
