BNL HIGH SCHOOL FIDDLER ON THE ROOF – MEDIA ADVISORY

The Bedford-North Lawrence High School announces the Spring Musical production: Fiddler on the Roof.

Fiddler on the Roof: 1964 Broadway Musical. Music by Jerry Bock. Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Book by Joseph Stein. Based on Tevye and his Daughters by Sholem Aleichem. Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. Adapted to Film in 1971.

Musical Numbers: Tradition, Matchmaker, If I Were a Rich Man, To Life, Miracle of Miracles, Sunrise, Sunset, The Bottle Dance, Now I Have Everything, Do You Love Me?, Far From the Home I Love, Anatevka.

Synopsis: Fiddler on the Roof tells the story of Tevye and his family living in the village of Anatevka during Tsarist Russia in 1905. While the world changes around him, Tevye must balance those changes with the life and tradition of his small village, like a fiddler on the roof, he says. In the meantime, he must arrange for, or accede to, the marriages of his daughters.

Tickets are Reserved Seating and cost $8.

Brian Samarzea [sah-MAR-jah] is a Minnesota native and has been the Director of the Bedford-North Lawrence Vocal Music Program since 2006. He studied music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He is also the Music Director of Morgantown United Methodist Church and serves as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Indianapolis.
