About Us:
Hey Everyone! Welcome to the site for The First Kiss Cafe Theme Camp! Here, you will find any and all information regarding our camp. This is also a place for you to ask us any questions or to give us your own personal input regarding the camp.
We ask that you read through this first page which will list out the many tasks that currently require YOUR help. So once you finish here, if you are POSITIVE you want to join our camp we ask that you please enter your information under the JOIN US tab on the left. If you are not on that list we assume you are not part of our camp. You will also be asked to choose an area in which you would like to assist. If you are not in the area and are unable to assist before the burn, we ask that you please get in contact with us and find some way to contribute :)
Everyone involved in this camp is expected to spend around 6 hours of their time at the playa doing camp duties. This includes working the Cafe and any other tasks that you are assigned. Now on to the fun stuff!
TASKS: Each of these tasks will have a person in charge, as soon as I find out who that is I will update this page with their name and contact info next to the job description :)
- Kitchen Crew: Leaders- Alec & Wolfgang
Dinner Groups - Organize dinner groups and make sure the meals are suitable for everyone in the camp.
Kitchen Common Areas - Help design/set up/organize the kitchen area.
Cleanliness - Enforce a clean kitchen, cleaning groups as well.
- Decoration Crew: Leader - Logan
Decorating the cafe and making it welcoming and fitting with our theme.
Decorating the new chill out dome we will be adding to the camp this year.
This includes working with existing PlayaTech furniture and figuring out what else we will need.
- Building The New Dome Crew: Leader - Alec
Help with acquiring necessary materials, prep, and building.
Help take down the dome after the burn.
- Old Dome Maintenance Crew: Leader - Michelle
Help to repair the old dome from last year.
Replace bent poles.
Help build it and take it down after the burn.
Building a new Bar for the cafe.
- Camp Layout Crew: Leaders - Briana & Logan
Layout - Create a concept for our camp layout. Possibly a few different ideas to throw around
Work with camp changes as they come about. Keep updating the layout as these changes occur.
- Everything to do with Tea (and serving it) Crew: Leader - Amber
Tea - Research what makes for the best Chai. How much it will cost and perhaps we can make our own?
Also in charge of making sure we have all the supplies necessary to make the tea and serve it.
Tea time: Create a serving schedule, make sure people know how to prep for tea serving, make tea, serve the tea, and clean-up afterwards.
- Greywater Engineer Crew: Leader - Wolfgang
Building and installing the Greywater to evaporate our dirty used water on the playa.
Coming up with a new more efficient design for this.
- Electronics/sound/power/lighting for the camp Crew:
Basically if it needs power this crew is in charge of making sure it will work out on the playa.
This includes the sound system, lighting, and having a generator that will work the whole time.
*ALSO*: Anything else you guys want to contribute please tell us! Maybe some fun camp activities? We would love any input you guys have to offer! You can even have your own little side project you do apart from any of these tasks, this is VERY open to creativity guys, I know you guys got it in you to think of awesome stuff to make or contribute.
