Hi Kids,

Just dipped my toe in the water over at Redstate and wrote a neat little post about my favorite topic du jour, the fact that John Monds is going to cause a runoff in the 2010 Governors race here in Georgia. Guess what? Not only do they make you register to post and inflate thier subscription numbers, they have the termerity to tell you that have to be a member for some unspecified period of time before they'll let your words and thoughts be seen in the morass over there. To top that off, you can't even copy your own work off the comment block!

Well, screw that. Here's what I wrote there:

Stumbled across this discussion and felt compelled to add my .02$ (US). It is lamentable that the esteemed Mr. Rothenberg failed to get it right reference Sec State Handel's educational background, it is unseemly that an affiliate/supporter of Mr. Oxedine stands accused of messing with her Wikipedia info to facilitate the story and it is inexcusable that Mr Rothenberg has not issued a correction.

That said, the whole affair is not going to have a significant effect on the outcome of the republican primary. Nathan Deal will be the republican candidate for Governor just as Roy Barnes will lead the democratic effort. And John Monds will bear the Libertarian Standard.

The end result will be a runoff in the Governors race in 2010. It would be wise for both republicans and democrats to redouble their fundraising efforts to be in the correct position for the extra 30 days of campaigning that will be required. The average estimates I've seen to be competitive are in the 10 to 12 million range for the general election so you better add another 8 million to that for the runoff. I know, bold talk for an old, fat white guy, but hey, I am a Libertarian.




So that was it, nothing revolutionary, just simple observation. It really grinds my gears that an outfit thinks it has to play thought police on a political board. I can understand no profanity, hell, I agree that profanity does nothing to move the discussion along. But a freakin' time limit? and no copying your own post? That's just total BS.
