FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Be it resolved that the Libertarian Party of Dekalb County, Georgia commends and endorses the position which was stated by United States Congressional Representative Michele Bachmann, Republican of the Sixth district the State of Minnesota reference the 2010 United States Census.
On June 17th in the Washington Times, Rep. Bachman stated,
“I know my for my family the only question we will be answering is how many people are in our home because the Constitution doesn’t require any information beyond that”.
Dekalb County Libertarians ask that the Georgia Congressional Delegation follow her lead.
Furthermore,
ACORN, a questionable left leaning group that has been riddled with charges of voter registration fraud should not be allowed to have anything to do with the US census.
The
Libertarian Party of Dekalb County, Georgia is outraged that the US Government
plans to spend 1 Billion Dollars on the 2010 census. In these times of economic
distress and record shortfalls of revenue, why does the Government need to
spend 254 Million Dollars to count people in Dormitories, prisons and group homes? Are there not lists of those citizens already?
Lastly, where in the constitution is it required that the government record the GPS coordinates of every front door in America? And why is the milestone for completion of
this project set for mid July 2009? The Census itself is supposed to be taken in 2010.
