Braselton News Comment 13 JUL 09

Hey kids,

Here's an opinion column that appeared in the 10 JUL 09 issue of the Braselton News written by a cat named Chris Bridges. Good work, everyone breezing thru here should check it out and leave a comment in his or her wake.

Here's the link to the original column and below that is the comment I tried to leave but it didn't take. C'est La.

Kudos to you Mr. Bridges,

You have nailed it on the head as far as sending a message that the politicians of Georgia and all across the nation would hear and respond to. Supporting the candidacy of Libertarian John Monds for Governor in 2010 provides Georgians with an opportunity to send that message and free themselves from our 1943 Jim Crow ballot access laws that have made Georgia a private Democrat and Republican preserve for the last 66 years.

Did you know that in the 2008 election that 62 incumbent Democrats and 82 incumbent Republicans had no opposition? This is a two party system where both parties have carved the state of Georgia into their individual plantations and keep it that way by the mighty Gerrymander and ensuring the petition requirements laid down in 1943 remain untouched.

But there is a loophole in their scheme. If a third party candidate can poll 20% of the vote in the Governor's race, the third party he represents will be classified as a bona fide political party, not a political body, and will be able to run candidates in any race in the state of Georgia without the draconian petition requirement.

So support Libertarian John Monds for Governor in 2010! Strike a blow for liberty and free all Georgians from the shackles of our ballot access laws. Vote John Monds in 2010!
