World Biomes

Several biomes are listed with fast facts about each in one long list.

Teachers First

This website has a good short description of eight different biomes.

Enchanted Learning

Enchanted learning has information about each biome in a table format.

University of California

This website is from University of California at Berkeley and has nice pictures of biomes and lists some animal names for each biome.

CyberZoo 

This “cyberzoo” has some of the most well known biomes linked to animal information.  Click on the biome name, and then click on the animals link to find a chart of animals adapted to that biome.

Botanical Gardens

This site is by the Missouri Botanical Garden, and is well worth a visit!  After clicking on the picture of a biome, topics on a menu on the side offer all kinds of information and pictures.

Animal Diversity

Animal Diversity Web is a list of all kinds of animals divided by their classes.  Pick the kind of animal you want, then you can see if lives in your biome.  All kinds of useful information about its adaptations are included.

Kids Go Wild

Here’s a good list of animals to choose from.  Click on the animal and check where it lives.

Grolier Online

Here's the Grolier database--you will need to get the username and password from Ms. Brown if you are at home.  The best encylopedias for biomes and animal adaptations is The New Book of Knowledge and Amazing Animals of the World.
