A Journey in the Wilderness

We are the Blindsided, trudging through 6 years of wilderness, occasionally stopping at an oasis here and there for a musical drink.  Our members are an eclectic group of talented musicians, from varied backgrounds and experiences, who have been working on a collaborative effort of original songs for just about 6 years now. Sticking together, mainly because we love to play this music with one another.

In the Beginning . . .

It all started with Jane and Nigel sitting around a campfire playing the blues back in Y2.

Jane Wojtaszynski – Vocals, Rhythm Guitar – PDB Opera

Resides in Cambridge for the past 10 years, originally from Kitchener.

Nigel Morrell – Guitar – Bloodbath, Supplication

Resides in Kitchener, been in the tri-cities for 7 years, originally from Calgary.

The Beat Goes On. . .

After about six months of practicing together Jane had an idea. She talked Nigel into jamming with her good friend, Tony Di Vito. Nigel was very skeptical about adding a drummer at first, but after hearing the master player, he was convinced and they became a trio.

Tony Di Vito – Percussion – Ancient Paths, Jokers Wild

Resides in Waterloo, originally from Woodbridge, born in Italy.

In Walks the Bass Line . . .

Paul joined them initially when Nigel and Jane first started to jam in 2000. He left shortly after to pursue other possibilities, came back briefly after Jane’s illness for a few gigs and now has returned as an even more seasoned musician happily contributing his talents to the creative process. They are very glad to have him back in the family (so to speak).

Paul (Slim) Morris – Bass – Room of Fools, Hair Show

Resides in Cambridge, originally from Stratford area.

And Now a New Beginning . . .

It’s taken a full 3 years for her to be able to play anything without her hand cramping up when it’s too cold or aching from playing for an hour. And somehow the band has come back together. After 5 years of playing on and off, we are playing once again and loving every God given minute of it.
