Transmedia is the use of multiple forms of media, or "entry -points", in order to tell or enhance a story. Each "entry-point" can have an independent focus but will serve to enhance the book, story, or other resource that is being explored. In Blasting the Past, we meet a young teenage girl named Chiss who discovers a moped, and also a little bit of magic, in a pole barn on her grandparent's farm. By using outside sources we are able to delve into Chiss' world, meet some of the characters in the story, and learn more about this magical tale. Please refer to the Wikipedia page on Transmedia Storytelling for more information on transmedia and its origins. Please go to the "Explore, Evaluate, and Evoke" page for an example of transmedia storytelling and for a review of the content. |
