Welcome to a new season of Table Tennis. The committee has changed only slightly from last year. The new Tournament Secretary is Simon Ible - good luck Simon. Rod Fry who took up the position of Match and Press Secretary at the beginning of last season has remained for this season. David Hughes continues as Secretary, and has passed his ETTA coaching examination at the end of last season. Simon Cutler is the new Treasurer.

In regard to the coming season, you will see from the Handbook we have gone back to a previous format of 2 league competitions. Prior to Christmas there are 2 divisions of 12 teams playing each other once. After Christmas there will be 3 divisions of 8 teams, based on the position in the table of the first League
Competition.

I wish everyone an enjoyable season.

  • April 2010 Dear BVTTL Members,The 2009/2010 season is nearly over but the race for the division 1 team title is not yet complete.  Stalbridge have done well to take a 14 point lead over Chalke Valley ‘A’. They have to play each other  on Tuesday 20th April in the last match of the season to establish the outcome of the first division.  Good luck to both teams.   The second division has run seamlessly as it usually does and Shaftesbury ‘A’ have already come out the undisputed winners.  In the third division, Child Okeford ‘C’ have done exceedingly well all season, only having lost one match.  Sturminster Newton juniors have had to miss a lot of matches this year owing ...

  • March 2010 Dear BVTTL Members, They were unbeaten – (Broad Chalke ‘A’ that is).  By this time however, they’ve been beaten twice. Once by Child Okeford ‘A’ and again by Stalbridge.  Well done to those two, and may division 1 press on with the extremely tight run at the top that the best team may yet win at the end of the day.  Division 2 is led by Shaftesbury ‘A’ and division 3 is being dominated by  Child Okeford ‘C’, and it perhaps looks unlikely that anyone can intervene in div’ 3 to prevent the ‘C’ team from the lifting the title at the end of the season.   The team handicap has largely been played and results for round 2 are as ...

  • January 2010 Dear BVTTL Members, Christmas has been and gone,The turkey’s all been eaten, Broad Chalke Valley ‘A’ remainThe team that’s yet unbeaten. Well, yes they do and all credit to their impressive match performances over a long period. Will they remain on top at the end of this current season we wonder. Is there anyone out there that can tip them over? The season is nipping by as ever it does and very soon it will be time for the League Presentation evening – more about that later. The proposed team handicap has indeed come to fruition and the draw has now been made. Chalke Valley ‘E’              v              Chalke Valley ‘D’Shaftesbury ‘A‘                  v             Child Okeford ‘D’Stalbridge ...
