Eyes
Extreme close-up handheld photo, with really shallow depth of field, of a Chinese Mantid showing the facets in the eyes. (commonly known as a praying mantis [sic]). I arrived home to find this insect on my front door frame. Handheld photo with 1/60 s shutter-speed at f/40 with a Nikkor Micro 105mm f/2.8 lens and a SB600 Speedlight operated in TTL mode. This is not the VR version of this lens. I was bracing my arms against the house to hold the camera steady.
