OXENHOLME
00 Gauge
Oxenholme is situated on the West Coast Main Line between Lancaster and Carlisle and is the junction station for Kendal and Windermere. The line was opened in stages between September and December 1846 when through trains could reach Carlisle. The line is still in use today as part of the West Coast Route to Scotland.

In the mid 1990's the Blackburn & East Lancs MRS was looking for a suitable location to model and after much thought Oxenholme was selected. The viewing area consists of the main station with its small goods yard and carriage sidings through to the junction where the Windermere branch turns off to the left, plus a section of the main line as it travels towards Carlisle.

Most of the track work is hand-built including the pointwork. Some proprietary items are used in the hidden sidings. Points are operated by Peco and Tortoise motors. Power is supplied from a central control panel, with the actual control by Gaugemaster.

As this is an actual location, all the buildings have been scratch built using various methods of construction. The signals are all scratch-built with dimensions scaled from photographs. The baseboards are constructed from plywood  box sections, using polystyrene fill for scenery, with coloured scatters for ground cover. All the stock is provided by the members and covers the period 1950's to 60's, most being kit built or modified proprietary.
