Originally built as a continuous run layout featuring a scale model of the Brinklow station and its Goods Yard on the West Coast Main Line, it has now been reduced to a fiddle yard to fiddle yard configuration. There is a sector plate at each end of the scenic section to maximize train length and give flexible operation.
 8F trundles through the Up Fast platform.

 A Down express (northbound) flashes through the busy station, whilst a local passenger on the Up Slow line has the "right away" and a goods passes on the Up Fast. |
