DIRECTIONS TO HYNDBURN LEISURE CENTRE

From the M65  Preston to Colne Motorway

  • Leave M65 at Junction 7 (signposted Clitheroe/Accrington/A6185)
  • At end of sliproad and on the roundabout follow Accrington/A6185 signs (there is a brown sign to Hyndburn Sports Centre)
  • After half a mile turn right at the traffic lights (signposted Oswaldtwistle/B6231)
  • In a hundred yards there is a mini roundabout in front of the Bridge Inn and Monte Cristo Restaurant. Turn sharp left and Hyndburn Leisure Centre is in front of you
 
 
From CHURCH & OSWALDTWISTLE Railway Station (Blackpool South - Colne Service)
  • Leave the station and go down the steps/ramp to Market St (B6231) and turn right
  • At the traffic lights turn right and almost immediately left following the B6231 (Henry St).
  • At the mini roundabout by the Bridge Inn turn right into Leisure Centre.
  • Walking time 8 minutes. 
From ACCRINGTON Railway Station (Blackpool South - Colne & Blackpool North - York Services)
  • Leave the station by the eastbound (Colne bound) platform and go down the path to Blackburn Road at the bottom.
  • Turn left and walk approx 0.75 miles to Church, turning right along the B6231 at the traffic lights.
  • At the mini roundabout turn right into the Leisure Centre.
  • Walking time 25 mins
Alternatively
    • At the bottom of the path from the station, turn left along Blackburn Road and at the first bus stop, board any bus passing through Church (most do).
    • Alight at Church and follow the B6231 through the traffic lights into Henry St as above.
    • There is a private hire (taxi) office at the bottom of the path leading from the station (reasonable prices).
 Bus passengers from MANCHESTER Area
  • The X40/X41 Manchester to Blackburn service stops at Bridge St. Church which is at the junction of the main Accrington - Blackburn Rd (A679) and Henry St (B6231).
  • Walking time 5 mins
 N.B. Signs to Leisure Centre
  • Some brown direction signs still display "Hyndburn Sports Centre". These signs point the way to the Leisure Centre
