Coleman soft sided cooler - Backpack cooler bag - Cooler master mystique 632 black Coleman Soft Sided Cooler
COAST GUARD Kind of a plain looking picture, but there is a lot to tell about here (see notes on photo). This is taken from the same spot as the previous picture, just looking east across Okanagan lake toward the village of Naramata (taken from Trout Creek). The drive to Naramata is stunningly beautiful. To the right are vineyards that are part of the Naramata Bench wine growing appelation - easily one of the best spots for wine grapes in Canada. In BC, it is probably tops along with the Black Sage vineyards south of Oliver (it gets 5+ degrees hotter there and so is better suited to full-throttle Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah). here, the Bench's climate is moderated by the lake and so wines grown here can be very well structured. The devastating wildfires that broke out in 2003 in Okanagan Mountain Park (by lightning) started just to the left of this picture. The Trans-Canada hiking trail (where the old Kettle Valley Railway was) crosses through this picture, just above the bench on it's way between Kelowna and Penticton. To the right of the lighthouse(?) is Creek Park - it is such a cool gorge. In summer, it is a respite from the intense summer heat and can be 15 degrees cooler. It's like stepping into a tropical forest. There are sheer cliff walls that line the south side, a waterfall and creek, and a steep narrow hiking trail that takes about 30 minutes max to get to the KVR/Trans Canada Trail above. We've come across a mother bear and two cubs in there once. I can't wait to get in there with my camera and tripod and try to shoot real slow shutter speeds and try to get that "soft" water effect. Spring run off is starting soon. Above the vineyards to the right is the Arawana trail system accessed by logging roads. This is one of our main riding areas and the trails are sweet - it is one of my favourite places to ride - the trails have great flow, you can preserve your elevation and have a long ride, the views are great and we usually ride the KVR all the way back to my house and jump in the lake (in summer) and have a few pops. Good times. Anyway...I don't usually shoot/post landscape, but this was fun and it's amazing how much I got out of it today. Hope you enjoyed the photos and stories (I usually let the photo do the talking!).
