I decided to start keeping a journal here to share with people my spiritual adventures.

First statement I want to make is that I am by no means perfect unless you are looking through God's eyes. As you might recall from the Bible that God considered Job perfect.

Job 1:8 (King James Version)

8And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

But if you take a good look at his life, you might not consider him perfect. Job failed as a father to raise his 1st ten kids to love and fear (respect) God. He was rich and probably too busy running his business to spend quality time with his kids. Most likely his kids never had to work and they partied all the time. Job was so afraid they would die in their sins that he made daily sacrifices for them.

Job 1: 4And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
5And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Had Job taught his kids right, then he would not have had to make sacrifices on their behalf.

Yet, God said he was perfect. Why? ...

Because he respected God and hated evil. You should be able to tell from the reading of Job that he had a devoted love for God. That is what God is looking for. God is not as concerned about our faults and failures as He is by our love for Him. Jesus taught us that if we love Him we will keep his commandments. None of us, (especially myself) have been perfect at keeping His commandments in the past. But if we repent, turn away from our disobedient ways, and follow Him with love, then He freely forgives us with joy. We become perfect in His eyes.
