Saturdays, from 10:00AM – 11:00 A.M. @ Bixby Park at Bixby Bandshell (On the corner of Cherry and Broadway) | Michelle Vitro ( Bio)
Michelle began practicing yoga in 2001, and in 2003 discovered the Ashtanga method, which had an incredibly transforming impact on all areas of her life. In 2005, she began teaching the series at Yogasanas Budapest in Budapest, Hungary. Michelle spent six weeks studying the traditional Ashtanga method in Mysore, India, then returned to her home state of Connecticut to study with Lou Gaccione of Ashtanga Yoga Rhode Island. As Michelle was a middle school teacher, she was asked to organize after school yoga classes, which were received with much enthusiasm. Today, Michelle maintains a daily practice and continues to teach the Ashtanga method to elementary and middle school students in after school programs in Long Beach. She believes yoga gives children an opportunity to exercise and release energy in a non competitive manner, build self-confidence, and improve focus. |
