The mission of the Missoula-Lolo Trail Alliance is to advocate for the construction of a non-motorized trail connecting Lolo and Missoula.

Vision

We envision a trail and river corridor between the communities of Lolo and Missoula, where people may travel safely by bicycle, foot or other non-motorized means, separated from highway traffic. The trail & river corridor will connect with neighborhoods, schools, parks, trails and area businesses. We believe it is important to protect the Bitterroot River Corridor for its natural resource, wildlife and recreation values.

Strategy

Our strategy involves several components:

·        Planning and Advocacy

o       Secure funding for a study examining the feasibility of a pedestrian/bicycle pathway connecting Lolo and Missoula

o       Gain public interest, support and advocacy for the trail and corridor

·        Trail construction

o       Secure funding and provide overall leadership for construction of the pedestrian/bicycle pathway
