Description of Events
Community Clean Up: Grab a trash bag and explore your property as well as along the common spaces and community edges for missplaced debris from the prior months. This would be a great volunteer activity for a service committee such as Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts. If interested, please let a trustee know. Areas include: All HOA grounds Hyland Croy, Tullymore & Mill Spring Ct cul-de-sac. Includes the retention pond areas at Mill Springs & possibly the Metro Park??? Pickup Trash, Reset fallen fence rails. December - February is a time where trash gets blown around frequently and would be a great time for a group to volunteer.
Social Committee Meeting: TBD
Easter Egg Hunt - April 4th: This is new this year and we hope it is the first of many. We plan to have children up to 4th grade canvas the roped off green space area for plastic filled eggs. Volunteers needed to spearhead this event. Children will be grouped by age for egg searches. Please let Paula or Julianne know if you are able to assist with planning this activity. (If you have plastic eggs no longer needed and would like to donate them to this activity for this year and future years, please drop them at Julianne's or Paula's)
Community Garage Sale - Saturday, April 18th: This year we are combining with Park Place for a huge sale. We anticipate combining costs to have larger advertising and a greater turnout. We are projecting at least 40 households participating between the two communities. If you are interested in organizing or assisting with the details of the event, please contact Julianne. Donation pick up to be Monday, April 20th.
HOA Annual Meeting - Friday, April 24th: The annual meeting and election of trustee(s) will be @ 7 pm.
Community Flower Planting, May 16th & 17th: Last year was the first year we planted flowers in an effort to engage in socialization as well as minimizing this cost for our HOA. We planted 12 flats of petunias along the entry way at Hyland Croy and Caraway. The soil was already tilled and, with a large turnout, we were finished in about 45 minutes. Jody Henley & Sharon Torski have volunteered to lead this activity. Planting will be from 1p - 3p each day. Please RSVP through the evite.
Community Picnic - Saturday, July 11th: This will be the third annual picnic. Last year we had the Dublin fire truck here as well as Kay Kay the Clown. Residents brought grillables and side dishes to share. Tents were provided by residents as well as the City of Dublin. We are seeking residents to lead a set up/tear down committee; games committee; and communication committee. Please step up and help. With everyone taking a turn this will be fun for all families year after year. If you have any ideas for this picnic, please let us know @ bishopssocialcom@gmail.com
Camp out in Greenspace: This is a suggestion from a resident and a first for 2009. The idea is for children with parents to pitch tents in the green space. This event is being organized by Misty Hibbitts.
Kindergarden Moms Meet & Greet: There are many children starting school as kindergardners. We thought this would be a good way for kids and moms to meet to see who might be in the same classes at the end of summer. Angela McCormick has offered to host this event.
