This course is at one level very practical. It is about using the multimedia and hypermedia as well as new semantic web possibilities of the evolving Internet to create new engaging, powerful and perhaps even profitable journalistic practices and buisinesses. At another level this course is also very analytical. It is about critiquing existing and emerging networked journalistic practices and businesses. At still another level, this course is deeply theoretical. Without a clear theoretical account of the changing media spaces and practices, we cannot build effective analyses nor engaging practices. |
