Pluristem Therapeutics Inc. (NasdaqCM: PSTI; DAX: PJT) is a clinical stage
biotechnology company developing and manufacturing standardized cell therapies
derived from the human placenta. Pluristem’s PLX (PLacental eXpanded) cell
products are expanded using the company’s patented proprietary technology. The scalable technology offers cell therapies
that are readily available for the treatment of critical limb ischemia (CLI) as
well as other diseases and require no tissue matching prior to administration. Pluristem’s lead product candidate, PLX-PAD, is in clinical trials in multiple sites in the U.S. and Europe for patients suffering from critical limb ischemia (CLI), the end-stage of peripheral artery disease (PAD). CLI is a therapeutic area with an annual $4 billion market potential. Pluristem received approval to conduct the Phase I clinical trials from the FDA and from Europe’s Paul Ehrlich Institute (Germany’s competency authority). All patients treated to date demonstrate that PLX-PAD is safe and effective. Technology The PLX cells are mesenchymal-like adherent stromal cells
(ASCs) derived from full a term placenta. The cells are expanded in the
company's proprietary bioreactor system, which provides a three-dimensional
(3D) microenvironment that enables full control over the manufacturing process,
large-scale growth of these cells, and batch to batch consistency. PLX cells
are immune privileged and possess immunomodulatory properties. Contact
