The Jade Ribbon Youth Council is proud to announce the second annual B-Inspired! Contest. Entrants will have the opportunity to receive great prizes, to obtain recognition from Asian American political leaders, and to contribute in the fight against hepatitis B and liver cancer.
Mission
By exploring health issues affecting our community, we can give a voice to the youth and provide them with an opportunity to share their insight on the world. We hope that this contest will bring more awareness to the urgency of hepatitis B eradication and unite more high school students to take charge in hepatitis B outreach.
Prizes
The winner of the B-Inspired! Contest will receive:

Free attendance ($300 value) to the 8th Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Asian and Pacific Islander Health (YLC) at Stanford University in the summer of 2010 (pending acceptance)
- 2GB iPod Shuffle
Recognition from the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University at 5th Annual LIVERight Zumbathon.

Eligibility
The B-Inspired! Contest is open to all current high school students, grades 9 through 12.
Prompts
Entrants will submit either a prose or video entry addressing one of the following prompts:
Prompt 1:
Choose a target audience from the following choices whom you wish to address in a letter, speech, or medium or you choice concerning hepatitis B:
- Your peers
- Citizen from a nation highly affected by hepatitis B
- Obama administration
- Person chronically infected with hepatitis B
- Audience of your choice
Prompt 2:
Research a country with a high prevalence of hepatitis B. Explain what the country is doing and suggest what further measures it should take to address hepatitis B.
Submission Format
Prose Entry
Essays should be no longer than 500 words. Enter the essay and all references in the submission box.
