The PTA extends its deepest thanks to the many students, parents, teachers, and staff who contributed to the success of the Black History Month Program as part of the February PTA Meeting.
We held an opening reception from 6 - 7 pm. We thank Hazel Mobely who arranged the food, the many parents who donated food, Ms. Dorothy Davis for sharing some of her fabulous African Art to add to the ambiance of the evening, and Ms. Gant for creating the signs with information about famous African Americans that were at each table.
Our program, which began at 7 pm, featured the Binford Cheerleaders; the Binford Steppers; Ms. Ricks-Winston in the dramatic presentation of "A Time Gone By"; an African Attire Fashion Show; a student dramatic presentation of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech organized by Binford Mom, Sala Powell; and two media presentations created by Binford Dad, Michael McVoy! It was truly a team effort, and we thank the many students, parents, faculty, and staff who made these presentations possible.
