Diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in 2007, Bill passed away in July of 2008. His wife Danielle is a sixth grade teacher at Loveland Intermediate and their four children, Matt, Liam, Johnny and Emma, all attend Loveland schools and participate in Loveland sports and activities. Bill was a passionate basketball player, installing a court outside their home, and taking on neighbors and friends. “Air Veedo” was a nickname Bill gave to himself during these raucous matches. “A year after Bill’s passing, the 3-on-3 tournament & basketball shootout is an opportunity,” says Leigh Edison, chairperson, “for the community and Bill’s friends to celebrate his passion and his life.” Proceeds from the event will be directed towards the William Vogt Family Fund, held at Keybank.
