My current digital camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3, which is a compact digital camera with great zoom lens. After using it for four weeks, I cannot get rid of it. I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a digital camera for three main reasons.

First, ZS3 takes nice pictures. With the lens from Leica, the quality of pictures is guaranteed. Before this one, I had used two digital cameras, including a Canon and an Olympus. ZS3 shoots better pictures than the two, especially in an environment with low light. And it has more options to adjust the sizes of the pictures.

Second, it is awsome to have 12x optical zoom within its highly portable size. Before buying it, I did consider buying a DSLR. I had been struggling with the decision for a long time. Finally, I took ZS3 and I was not disappointed at all. Its merits of being portable without compromise in the optical zoom make it replaceable for a DSLR.

Third, it can take videos of 720p with stereo sound. It also have an option to reduce the wind sound - reducing unwanted noises.

Currently, I am enjoying it and I am very satisfied with the purchase. 

As for the price of a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3, it is still high in Canada even after one year since its release in January 2009. The price in Futureshop or BestBuy is still around $399 plus taxes. However, the price of the same product on Amazon.com is less than 250 US dollars. The price often fluctuates on Amazon.com. At times, I saw the price of the same product as low as 230 US dollars. As the Canadian dollars maintain sturdy at the moment, I would recommend Canadian buyers to shop in the US in which at least 100 Canadian dollars can be saved for buying the amazing digital camera.
