Ramon had to like help me walk all the way to the lockers cause i wasn't walking straight. right when i got to the lockers, i took another Bonine & drank some water. that made me feel better right away. that was the worst ride ever. i did NOT like that at all lmao. omg that was horrible lol ! anyways, after that horrible experience, i needed/wanted Butter Beer. yes you heard me Butter Beer in Harry Potter world. it was the best thing EVER !!!!!! like i'm literally craving for some more RIGHT NOW as i'm typing this. i got to keep a mug too :D ! that says Butter Beer[x lol<3 you'll see a picture of it later[; ANYWAYS ! after that, we went straight to universal, to watch Pitbull. not gonna lie, i was totally sad that i missed B.o.B perform]: at least i saw the ending of his performance. but still i wish i went earlier]: anyways, we stayed at the concert to watch Pitbull perform. & omg it was awesome :D ! he did an amazing job[: it was fun :D ! then after the concert, we rode the Mummy :D it was my first time riding it too. it was fun[: it didn't go upside or anything. it reminded me of Space Mountain. but Space Mountain is funner in my opinion[x then after that, everyone wanted to ride this new roller coaster. i took one look at it & was like no wayyyy. but everyone made me|: as we were in the line, i realized how effing tired i was. i kept yawning every 5 seconds. i was like about to sleep in the line. then little Cathy noticed that the safety bar in the ride was a lap bar. & i looked at the people waiting to get off, & i noticed it too that i wasn't above your head. & that roller coaster goes upside & everything. & right when i noticed that i was like thats it no way in hell am i riding that thing going STRAIGHT UP, like literally straight up, & going upside down without a saftey bar that goes above your head. no no way. so i was figuring out how to get out of the line. while everyo Beer Shelf
Licher Lager This German brew pours a clear, straw-colored, pale yellow with a voluminous (from a fairly aggressive pour) pure white head that eventually recedes to a persistent collar. The nose is pure German pils, with lightly sweet pale malts underpinning a strong noble hop aroma. Look for floral and lemony notes, a hint of grape juice, and a subtle, almost aspirin-like impression. Licher delivers on the palate too, opening with very clean pale malt flavors that lend a fairly robust sweetness, while a prominent lemony hop acidic zing nicely counterbalances and keeps everything in order. Finishes a bit drier with a moderately bitter hop note. We enjoyed the way this pils feels quite round and soft in the mouth, which combined with the excellent balance makes for an extraordinarily drinkable brew that goes great with spring sunshine, warmer temperatures, and backyard barbecues. Prost! Serving Temperature: 40-45°F Alcohol by Volume: 4.9% Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass or Mug Michigan Nut Brown Ale This English-style brown ale pours a clear reddish-brown color with a moderate tan head. Look for rich toasty malt aromas, with notes of lightly roasted coffee, cocoa powder, caramel, nuttiness, and a hint of straw. Some toffee notes are apparent along with a Tootsie Roll impression, with the whole package overlaid by a lightly grassy hop aroma. On the palate, expect a moderate residual sweetness balanced nicely by a mild bitterness. Notes of cocoa, caramel, and toffee are there, along with a dark fruity hint on the mid palate. Finishes with a slight tartness, and a long-lasting nutty note that wells up in the aftertaste. This smooth, medium-bodied brew would make a pretty good match for grilled pork tenderloin with brown gravy, or a woody, chocolaty cigar. Serving Temperature: 45-50°F Alcohol by Volume: 5.0% Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 15 Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug Malts: Pale, Caramel 40, Caramel 60, Carapils, Aromatic, Dark Chocolate, Wheat Hops: East Kent Goldings Lucky Bucket IPA This well-crafted IPA offers up a hazy amber color with a sizeable, fluffy, off-white head that drops plenty of lace as you drink down the glass. But as good as it looks, it’s nothing compared to the big, luscious, and complex hoppy aroma (not surprising given the 5 different hop varietals used in this brew) replete with very floral, resinous, and grapefruit-like citric zest notes. Underneath, strong pale and caramel malty aromas come through, with a bit of a honey-like hint. Take a sip and… Bam! Big American hop flavors erupt across the palate. Bitterness is very firm, but there’s a robust malt backbone to provide just the right amount of sweetness. Finishes with a persistent touch of that malt sweetness, and a resinous hop bitterness that lingers on till the next sip. Serving Temperature: 45-50°F Alcohol by Volume: 6.3% Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 65 Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug Malts: 2-Row, Caramunich, Wheat Hops: Magnum, Centennial, Amarillo, Cascade, Columbus Jamaica Stout You’ve probably heard the story of how the India Pale Ale (IPA) style evolved as a more highly-hopped and bigger alcohol brew in order to make it from England to the British colonies in India without spoiling. You might be thinking: yes, but what does that have to do with a Jamaican stout? Well, it turns out that the story of the IPA actually has some parallels with the evolution of the “tropical stout,” which is the stylistic category into which our current beer falls. Stout is a wide-ranging group of sub-styles, with most pub-goers familiar with the Irish Dry Stout (like Guinness or Murphy’s). Just like with IPA, a modified type of stout was needed in order to survive the long and often very warm voyage to various tropical and other foreign locations, and then stay in good shape long enough to be enjoyed. Thus, a roastier, heavier-bodied, and higher-alcohol stout evolved known as Export or Foreign Stout, with such brews made for, or in, the tropics known as Tropical Stouts. Tropical stouts can actually be quite sweet and sometimes without much roast character or dry bitterness, while Export versions are usually moderately dry (in some ways like a scaled up Irish dry stout). Big City’s Jamaica Stout offers fruity esters reminiscent of raisins, prunes, and black cherries, plus some coffee-like roastiness on the nose. These notes carry through on the palate with lots of chocolate and coffee, hints of licorice and dark rum, and a bit of a warming feeling from the alcohol. A pretty darn good beer on its own, it’s also very nice paired with chocolate rum cake. Cheers!
