It's kind of scary to think that in 12 weeks, the project will be finally over! I can't believe it's been nearly a year since I started this project. I've had alot of great beer, alot of bad. I know with it being Christmas season, I've been trying an insane amount of Christmas beer, and there's no end in sight.. but I'm fine with that. This is the second beer I've tried by Inveralmond Brewery, based in Scotland. The last one was Blackfriar. This beer is called Santa's Swallie, which has a cartoon depiction of Santa relaxing after a long night of delivering presents around the world, with a big mug of beer in his hand. This beer is in a generous 500mL bottle, with a lowish 4.3% alcohol content. Santa's Swallie is a copper golden colour ale, oh so much foam when pouring the beer! The aroma consists of nutmeg and a bit of cinnamon.. ah christmas. I'm expecting that one beer that's overly cinnamony and spicy but this is not it, mostly a dry nutmeg taste to it, a bit of a sweet cinnamon taste lingers on the tongue after the sip is done, which I like. Not bad but for some reason I want a very sweet beer too reminiscent of Christmas. This may be a beer I'd have on Christmas while having the annual "xmas steak dinner", but that's about it. PS - snow is one of the best ways to chill your beer, try it sometime!
