Biblical Hebrew NZ is all about learning Biblical Hebrew in New Zealand - how to get started, where to study, and how to contact with others who share the same interest.
If you live in New Zealand then please consider joining our email network The Biblical Hebrew Club of NZ. This is your online community where you can meet others who also study (or are interested in studying) Biblical Hebrew. Questions can be raised, issues discussed, and information and support shared. You are very welcome to join us.
If you not sure what Biblical Hebrew is, or what is involved in studying it, you should check out the Beginners FAQ. Here we try to address those common questions that people have, and provide some of the information you need to help you embark on a course of study. There are also articles to read on the Articles and Contributions page for beginners and students at all stages.
When you study Hebrew you will want to gather around you some good resources. Some of these will be books, and some will be found on the internet. Check out Hebrew texts and software for the rundown on titles, and a list of the local and overseas suppliers to make your purchases. But before you spend good money, why don't you check out the hebrew freebies on the net. We are gathering all the free downloadable programs or website resources we can lay our hands on that will aid your studies in Biblical Hebrew. Some we can recommend,but others you have to try for yourself. Just remember to be savvy and use your virus checker when downloading.
Eventually you will want to know where to sign up for a Biblical Hebrew class or group. A list of Study Options in New Zealand will give you a good range of options, from university courses, to home groups, to self-study, to online courses. But don't overlook our Online Resource Centre supplying or augmenting material for learning the alphabet, Biblical Hebrew grammar, Advanced Hebrew Studies, Hebrew bible study, and additional material.
And if you're scratching your head over how to type in Hebrew, or send Hebrew in an email, check out the page on typing Hebrew on your computer. We're not experts in this area, but we have a few suggestions and some good links to help you along.
