Bible Backgrounds

We have sixty six books written over a 1,600 year period by forty plus inspired writers that were from such walks of life as: kings, shepherds, fishermen, a tax collector, a general, a physician and others. However, these are not just sixty six little books; they, in fact, make up just one book. Understanding Bible times and customs is imperative for our being more effective in our interpretation and translation of God's Word.

This is simply a cover page, which will have attached pages under it that will cover the sixty six books and information concern the writers, the time of their writing as well as the place and period covered. Also, there will be evidence to demonstrate that these books are a part of the canon of God's Word and inspired by him to pen the words that they wrote in their own style.

This will include information on the geography of the every area that was affected by those characters found in God's Word, the timing of the events of the Bible, Bible translations, archaeological and other supporting evidences of the authenticity of the Bible, and proof of the Bible canonization. All of this is a help to bring on appreciation for the Bible as the most practical and beneficial book on earth today. We will attempt to set articles within some wide time frames (Note, we will put Era 1, Era 2, Era 3 and so on, according to the numbered list below and the major events listed. It would like be more appealing to the eye if the numbers were spelled, but it would put things out of order that way.):

  1. From Adam’s creation to the Flood
  2. From Flood to covenant with Abraham
  3. From Abrahamic covenant to Exodus
  4. From Exodus to the division of the Kingdom
  5. From the division of the Kingdom to the desolation of Jerusalem
  6. From the desolation of Jerusalem to the return from exile
  7. From the return from exile to the birth of Christ
  8. From the birth of Christ to the death of the Apostle John and and early Apologist era.
