So we realize, that seldom does the Gospel start with the birth of
Christ himself, though the Gospel of John begins poetically, by
telling us the truth of Christ, whom the world did not recognise.

Here we start the Gospel of Luke, notice the great words of the Lord's
writer:

The Gospels
Luke
Chapter 1
NAB

"1

1 Since many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the events that
have been fulfilled among us,

2

just as those who were eyewitnesses from the beginning and ministers
of the word have handed them down to us,

3

I too have decided, after investigating everything accurately anew, to
write it down in an orderly sequence for you, most excellent
Theophilus,

4

so that you may realize the certainty of the teachings you have
received. "

For charity, and Godliness he undertakes to tell the truth, not
discouraged by the many who already do, realizing that God will ensure
that his words will have an effect, realizing that his words will
testiy to the accuracy of the Holy Traditions that his dear reader -
Theophilus, had recieved from the Holy Church of God, or perhaps
another source. None the less, Luke writes for this single audiance,
and for this single friend undertakes to write such a long account,
what's more, is proffessional in his Godliness, and undertakes to
ensure it is an orderly account. He realizes that God uses our everyy
good act for good, and realizes also the vitality of not blindly
following assumption, but ensuring that both his and his reader,
Theophilus, gain the actual truth, on which to base their continual
obediance to truth, and rebellion against darkness, though not for
rebellion, yet in obedience to truth. Here he does something that many
sadly object to, and determines to show that they both are following
God's truth adequately, yet this is not done in distrust of the Organ
of the gospel, but just the opposite,

Luke 1 v 4
"
so that you may realize the certainty of the teachings you have
received. "

He does so to justify the teacher and the faith, and assure his friend
of the accuracy of the message, and so again, we can see that it was
Love, charity, as we call it, and truth that motivated his Gospel,
truth, not pride or prestige. He openly admits that others have drawn
their own accounts, yet he realizes, that none the less, God will use
his own to affect his reader.

"Love delights not in evil, but rejoices in truth", surely, it was not
doubt of the teacher that caused him to investigate, but the urge of
God to justify the teacher, and to strengthen the faith of his
brother, Theophilus, yet God sees small a great alike, and uses small
and great. His account for a single friend, his account for one who
seeks the truth, to better obey God, is an account, though unintended,
now for billions, who follow the Lord, or are given the truth, by His
servant Luke, who undertook such a humble task for Love, and Truth and
for Friendship, yet these casual words of introduction, these casual
words of brotherhood, even today testify to the character of Luke, the
truth being the basis of his search, and the objectiveness of the
Christian faith, that while not following the ways of this terrible
world, still, it follows the ways of Our God, and knows that there is
that which human logic is flawed in understanding, yet for faith, it
does not deny the need to follow truth, and cement belief on reality.
