Welcome!

Welcome to Broughton High School and English! My name is Juliana Pattisall-Williams and I am excited to be your child's teacher this year. 2021-2022 is my 20th year of teaching at BHS. Time has flown!

I am originally from Rocky Mount, NC, but have lived in Raleigh since 1995. After graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a BA in Secondary English Education. While at UNC-CH, I joined the Delta Zeta sorority and volunteered with the football program as a Sweet Caroline. (Go Heels! #MackisBack #GDTBAT)

My first teaching position was with the Dare County School System in Manteo, NC. I taught the Academically Gifted program at Manteo Middle School and English III at Manteo High School. After moving to Raleigh, I taught at Culbreth Middle School in Chapel Hill and at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh before joining the faculty at Broughton High School. As a member of the Broughton High School faculty, I have taught English I, English III, and AP Literature and Composition. I currently teach English I and AP Literature and Composition. In addition to teaching English classes, I also advise the Student Government Association and the National Honor Society as well as serve on the BHS Leadership Team.

I am mom to two daughters, both BHS graduates! Hallie is a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Communications, and Virginia is a junior at the University of Georgia pursuing a degree in Pharmacy. I am incredibly proud of my two girls!

I look forward to this school year and getting to know everyone--in person!
