On 6.3.09 at 10.30pm in the evening, a vehicle was being driven along the

A34 Woodford Road in Poynton with four occupants aboard.

A silver Vauxhall Vectra came up behind their vehicle at speed and continued to follow them, for a couple of miles.

When the first vehicle turned into the South Park Drive area of Poynton the driver was aware of an orange STOP POLICE sign in the front dash of the vehicle and so stopped her vehicle and got out, along with some of the other occupants .A male got out of the second vehicle and walked towards them

No blue lights were seen on this second vehicle.

The driver started asking questions when one of the occupants from the first vehicle asked to be shown some police identification due to the manner in which this male was speaking to them..

No identification was offered and the male then returned to his vehicle and drove off.

He is described as late 30's, 5ft 10, stocky build, shaven moustache, thining brown hair, with a local accent wearing jeans and a round neck top.

Police believe that this male could be purporting to be a police officer.
