Statement of InterestMy research and teaching focus on the socio-cultural
basis of observable language use. I am particularly interested in the cultural
logic of speaking in public in particular communities of speakers, and the
creation and use of cultural knowledge in small group interaction. NewsMy first book, tentatively titled Speaking Hatefully: Culture, Public Communication, Political Action, is now under contract with Penn State University Press. The book is scheduled to appear in 2012 in the press's "Rhetoric and Democratic Deliberation" series. Latest publication: "Dismantling the antiracist "hate speech" agenda in Hungary: An ethno-rhetorical analysis" (Text & Talk, 2011) |
