Hockey league email from Henry

 

Hi all

 

We have entered a social mixed mini league giving us 6 Sunday mixed fixtures for this season. It won't be at all serious and it should be great fun, high five!

 

First match is 25th September

Provisionally the other matches are the first weekends of October and November and then February, March and April.

 

The really important bit: For each match we will need to provide an umpire. I will do my best to get one but it is often not easy for the Sunday games so I need help from everyone.

Firstly if you know anyone that would be prepared to umpire for us please let me know ASAP (I am already in contact with Andy Gregson about it and I am looking for more people if he is busy). I will pay £20 (out of my own money) to anyone at least L1 qualified that will umpire a full game.

On top of this please can you let me know if you would be prepared to umpire a half of a game if you are playing? This is only a last resort and I will share the responsibility around everyone that is prepared to do it. Everyone that puts themselves forward to help will be given priority when I am selecting the team. This will apply to any match you umpire a half (i.e. you get the whole other half) and other matches when someone else is doing it. To be fair on those that can’t umpire I will also include you in the priority list if you manage to find someone to cover your umpire spot.

So please can you let me know the following:

Would you like to play?

Would you be prepared to help umpire?

If you know of any matches above that you can/can’t play?

I will be using Facebook to organize this where I can so please make my life easier by accepting the invites for matches you can play
