Boca Grande Community Planning Panel
This link is to the text of the Lee County Vision Statement and Lee County Goal, Objectives and Policies for Boca Grande as adopted unanimously by the Lee County Board of County Commissioners as Consent Ordinance 05-19 on October 12, 2005. The Vision Statement and Goal, Objectives and Policies became effective on January 9, 2006 and were incorporated into the Lee County Comprehensive Plan 2006 Codification as Amended through November 2006. They are now included in the Lee Plan 2009 Codification As Amended through May 2009, which is available online at the website of the Lee County Department of Community Development, www.lee-county.com/dcd.
This link is to the text of the Community Plan for the Charlotte County portion of Gasparilla Island as accepted by the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners by a vote of 4-1 on July 17, 2007. This Community Plan is a stand alone community plan and not included in the Charlotte County Comprehensive Plan (see the Note following Section VIII of this Website Contents). The current version of the Charlotte County Comprehensive Plan as updated through January 22, 2009 is available online at the website of the Charlotte County Growth Management Department. www.charlottecountyfl.com/growthmanagement.

Note: The text of the Boca Grande Community Plan as submitted to the Lee
County Division of Planning on September 30, 2004 and to the Charlotte
County Community Development Department on October 11, 2004 is set
forth as Section V B. An Application to have Lee County adopt the Lee County
Vision Statement and Lee County Goals, Objectives and Policies contained in
the Community Plan into the Lee County Comprehensive Plan was also submitted
to the Lee County Division of Planning on September 30, 2004 and an Application
to have Charlotte County adopt the Charlotte County Vision Statement and Charlotte
County Goals, Objectives and Policies contained in the Community Plan into
the Charlotte County Comprehensive Plan was also submitted to the Charlotte
County Community Development Department on November 15, 2004. The
Applications for the Comprehensive Plan Amendments are not included on
the website because the Vision Statements and Goals, Objectives and Policies
sought to be included in the Comprehensive Plans are the same as in the Community
Plan submitted to the Counties on September 30 and October 11, 2004.

Note: In February 2007, with the encouragement of the Charlotte County Community Development Department, the Boca Grande Community Planning Panel determined not to proceed with the Application to have the Charlotte County Vision Statement and Charlotte County Goals, Objectives and Policies included in the Charlotte County Comprehensive Plan. At that time, the project changed to completion of a stand alone Community Plan for the Charlotte County portion of Gasparilla Island. The Charlotte County Vision Statement and Charlotte County Goals, Objectives and Policies as then revised were all included in the Community Plan for the Charlotte County portion of Gasparilla Island and discussions continued with the Charlotte County Community Development Department. The Community Plan for the Charlotte County portion of Gasparilla Island was accepted by the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners by a vote of 4-1 on July 17, 2007. The text of this approved Community Plan appears at the end of Section VIII and can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link at the top of the Home Page of this website.
