Rural residents should note that this only applies in NTFRS areas, and that Permits to Burn are still available in areas under the control of Bushfires NT. The persistent humid rainy weather means that many areas are still too wet to put in fire breaks or too green to burn and volunteer brigades are having mixed results with their prescribed burning program.
