Friday 11 December 2009 The grey overcast skies and wet bush after last night's rain seem to spell the end of the Top End's bushfire season and a tropical low off the north coast that is predicted to form the first cyclone of the season would tend to confirm this.
Hopefully, it's goodbye to being tired all the time and lacking energy and hello to the vigour that accompanies the cooler wet season conditions.
Brigades should now prepare for the cyclone season and our role in the Counter Disaster Organisation. It's also end of year party time and all firies are asked to drive carefully over the break. See you in the smoke next year! |
