Getting around

This page is intended for people who don't spend a lot of time on the internet. Experienced web users can skip this completely.

There are a few diffent ways to open pages:

1. In the top left corner (under Northern Territory Bushfire Volunteers and immediately to the left of Getting around) there is a pale blue box with a list of the main heading pages. Clicking on the arrows displays their subpages. Just click on your choice to open that page.

2. Subpages are also listed in the panel at the bottom of each page - those that have them, of course. Just click on your selection.

3. The last listing in the Navigation panel is Sitemap. Clicking on this shows a map of the whole website with pages and subpages at all levels. Click on the plus signs to expand the view, or on Expand all to display every page, and on Collapse all to display only the header pages. Click on your selection to open that page.

Another way to find specific information is to type in your particular interest in Search this site.

Certain pages have downloadable attached PDF documents . These are listed at the bottom of those pages and may be opened or downloaded by clicking on the link.

Photos can be viewed in higher resolution by clicking on them. Slideshows are started by clicking on the centre arrow. Individual photos can be viewed by pausing the slideshow and then clicking on the photo out of the central area.

Links to other pages or websites are used quite a lot. These are underlined and in a different coloured font.

Map views can be changed between satellite image and street map. They can be zoomed in or out and panned. Have a play with them to see what you can do.

Videos

Some videos in this website are better watched in full screen. Click on the YouTube logo which opens the video in the YouTube website. Use the controls on the bottom of the video to enlarge the picture to full screen.

You will need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player for good viewing.

Just remember that viewing in full screen makes a considerably larger download file size than the small picture.
