Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

On Sunday 6 June 2010 Lee, "Uncle" Kev and Frank flew from Darwin to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park via a 5 hour stopover at Alice Springs airport, while Rob drove down with the Training trailer in tow. It was overcast and very cold when we arrived at the Rock.

The sun came out the following day, but it was still quite cold for Top Enders, especially when the wind picked up.

Training was an FF1-NT for Park and Docker River Rangers.

On the Wednesday we got the opportunity to play tourist while waiting for our flight back home to beautiful warm Darwin, via Cairns.  The cloud cover returned and wasn't shaken until some distance airborne to the north. Our tourist activities included the very interesting cultural Liru Walk with an interpreter and Anangu guide, followed by a trip to Kata Tjuta. Overcast skies didn't make perfect photography conditions, but this was compensated by all the desert wildflowers brought out by the recent rains.
