North Australian Fire Information
This website provides satellite imagery for current and past fires in Northern Australia. It is particularly useful when viewed in Google Earth.

| Downloading Google Earth | Visit the Google Earth website to find out more about Google Earth, download the software, and get help: http://earth.google.com/. The information below assumes that have downloaded and installed the Google Earth application and have a fundamental knowledge of how it works. | Adding NAFI layers | Once Google Earth is installed on your computer, click the link below and select "open" in the dialog box that appears Add NAFI layers to Google Earth
- Your Google Earth application should open with the NAFI layers loaded into "Temporary Places".
- Within a few seconds the 6hr and 12 hr hotspots and the firescars will be visible.
- To make more layers visible, tick the boxes next to the layer- the layer is refreshed three seconds after each time you change the extent of the area you are viewing.
- You can also choose to save the file and open it from within the Google earth application.
