Lauren Gander is 11 yrs old and lives in Bexhill on Sea and is now a Young Ambassador for the Tree of Hope Children’s Charity. “Lauren was born with Spina Bifida and doctors told us that she may never walk and they remained very uncertain of her diagnosis and her outlook for the future looked bleak. However she has surprised us all and not only walked but became the most inspiring and charming little girl I now. At the age of 5 she found her dancing feet and quickly established herself as a keen and talented performer. At the age of 7 she performed in London's West End and from there to today regularly performs in London's west end and in shows around the UK, including of pantomime every year. She has worked with numerous high profile celebrities including Emma Barton, Leslie Gantham, Stephen Mulhern, Ben Freeman, Dot Cotton, Craig David, to name a few. Lauren became very aware that her personal life was a whole lot better than most, and is astutely aware that her ability to lead a normal life is a fine line from others who can't. Because of this she took an interest in helping others and started charity work and fundraising. At the age of 8 she raised ?1000. Over the last 2 years she has raised in excess of ?75,000 for various charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital charity, where she remains an outpatient and the Childrens Trust, in which she walked all through the night in the cold in her pyjamas. Now Lauren is keen to help the Tree of Hope Children’s Charity.
