To All Scouts and Adult Scout Leaders, This upcoming Sunday, February 8th, is the date that celebrates the anniversary of Scouting. One of the points of the Scout law is for a Scout to be Reverent. Scouting is one of the few organizations left that not only embraces religious beliefs but also promotes the religion as an important part of their lives. As such, all Scouts and their leaders should attend their church on this upcoming Sunday, February 8th 2009. All Scouts and leaders should wear their Class A Uniforms to their respective religious services. For those Scouts who attend Temple or Synagogue, Scout Sabbath will be on February 14th, 2009. Scout Sabbath is the first Saturday AFTER Scout Sunday. All Scouts and Leaders should wear their Class A Uniforms to their appropriate religious services as well. To those who attend during Scout Sunday or Scout Sabbath, a patch will be provided for each Scout who attends. Please let your Den leaders know of your attendance so that they can request the patch for the Scouts who attended. Since a Scout is Trustworthy, attendance is based upon the honor system. Help celebrate the anniversary of Scouting and to show to the members of your congregation that you are proud to be a Scout. I look forward to seeing as many people attending as possible. Regards, Harry Rathsam |
