Bethlehem Little League was established in 1960 at the complex on the corner of Bethlehem Road and Dickens Road. We have been affiliated with District 5 and Little League Baseball since that date. 2011 will be our 52nd season. Our league is a non-profit, volunteer organization that promotes a positive place for children and teenagers to develop friendships, athletic skills, sportsmanship and respect. We offer T-Ball for ages 5-7 and Baseball for ages 7-18 in divisions of Pitching Machine, Minor, Major, Junior & Senior. Our program serves the youth of central and western Henrico County in Richmond VA. Bethlehem Little League is run by a group of board members who graciously volunteer their time and abilities to serve our league. Bethlehem Little League works in cooperation with Johnson Elementary School and Henrico County Parks & Rec

Bethlehem Opening Day 2010 Sat April 17
This past Saturday was Bethlehem Little Leagues 51st Opening Day. Traditional parade of teams, board member announcements, award ceremonies, and the first pitch events all took place on the Major Field on a cloudy, yet mild morning. Many recent Opening Days it was snowing or raining so this year's weather was alright.
President Mark Imes and Secretary April Bourne announced the teams that walked onto the Major Field for the parade of teams.
The 2010 teams are T-Ball Marlins, Nationals, and Orioles; Machine Pitch Mets, Rays, and Red Sox; Minor Braves, Giants, and Pirates; Major Athletics and Royals; and Junior Twins and Senior Cardinals.
Vice President Scott Butler was given a prestigious award for his dedication to the league for 30+ years. His major Royals team and manager Jason Hunt presented him with this award. Scott had one son who played in the league in years past. Twins manager Dick Partin won the Olinger Award which is given to the individual at Bethlehem who most deserves the award for volunteering their time and effort with no child or relative currently in the league. Dick has been coaching at Bethlehem for 15+ years and has had two sons play in the league in years past. Former league president Mark England was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award for 2010. His dedication to the league last season many hours of the day and often 7 days a week was much appreciated. Mark was President of Bethlehem Little League from 2002-2003 and 2007-2009 and also served as a coach and facilities director during that time. Mark currently coaches the Big League team at Bethlehem and has had a son and a daughter play at Bethlehem in years past. Congratulations to all three individuals. A thank you to Tara Martin for singing the National Anthem during the Opening Day ceremony and congratulations to Logan Willett of the T-Ball Nationals for throwing out the traditional "first pitch" to Senior Cardinal Jacob Hancock. Bethlehem Little League continues our tradition of having the youngest player in the league throw out the first pitch to the oldest player.
Opening Day Game Results: Rays 1 Red Sox 1 --- Athletics 4 Royals 2 --- Mets 8 Vikings 7 --- Twins 15 Rangers 14
Giants 14 Reds 6 --- Cardinals 3 Yankees 2 --- Pirates 12 Braves 6
