1. Reading and Literacy Project Project to develop a reading and literacy promotion program for a rural high school in which pleasure reading infrequently occurs. Goals are based on cross curricular Georgia Performance Standards and a multiple promotion strategies are proposed.
Project to develop a media program mission statement, philosophy,
short and long-term goals, program evaluation criteria, and identify
program strengths and weaknesses within the contstraints of a fiscal
budget.
3. Curriculum Map Project to expand a basic folktale lesson plan for third
grade to develop a curriculum map which can be used to facilitate
collaboration between a media specialist and grade level teachers. By
mapping what is being taught when, the media specialist and teacher can
collaboratively develop lesson plans to extend content learning, as
well as seamlessly integrate information literacy skill lessons into
the curriculum. This map included: graphic organizers to assist in
comprehension, resources to locate landmarks from folktales, Italian
phrase books, multi-cultural comparisons and contrasts of the same
folktale, print and electronic research resources, reader's theatre,
timeline creations, lessons on conducting personal interviews,
storyteller visits, and folktale webquests.
4. Selection Policy
Project to develop selection criteria, policy, procedures for selection, reconsideration process, acceptable use policy, collection evaluation policy, intellectual freedom statement, and gift policy. 5. Order Project to select materials for purchase within a $2500 budget based on annual selection targets, rationales, and selection justifications. these inquiry learning lessons? What method might I use to stay current on GPS changes? How do I insert information literacy skills into content area lessons based on the Georgia

Collaborative genealogy lesson developed
with 11th grade U.S. history teacher during internship. Developed
pathfinder to specify research resources aligned step-by-step with the
assignment, source template, MLA Citation job aide, and instructions
for remote access to media resources.
