Leading a Growing Congregation
At Bethany
Memorial Reformed Church in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Reverend Paul
Glover leads a diverse congregation that is determined to grow in numbers to
help spread the Word of Christ. He became the church’s Minister of Word
and Sacrament in June 2007, arriving from a ministerial staff position
at St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church, where Reverend Melvin
E. Wilson is Senior Pastor.
Pastor Paul is a graduate of
Metropolitan College of New York, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree
in Human Services and a Master of Science in Administration. He
received a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological
Seminary in May 2005.
As a clergyman before his arrival at
Bethany, Pastor Paul served as a student minister, youth minister,
Christian educator, chairperson of stewardship and finance, and deacon
on the local board of consistory.
As an educator, he teaches in
the Adult Basic Education Program at York College Learning Center. He
taught philosophy and ethics as an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan
College of New York. Pastor Paul has also worked in social services,
providing individual and group counseling.
