Many sleazy handicapping services consistantly announce their "sure-fire" bets to members who are prompted to pay $109.95 annually. In the 2009 NFL season, Best Bets went 31-37. With these "Locks" it is pretty safe to assume that when they are sure they are right, they actually statistically have a better chance of being wrong. However, those are just statistics, and what do 'stats' mean to anyone interested in sports betting? Pro Football Weekly endorses its Handicapping Exclusive Club by claiming 67% accuracy -- oddly enough over a four-year period, the actual picks published were only 48% accurate. I may have skipped a few math classes in my day, but I have always killed it when it came to those photo hunt games and I could pick out the difference in those two pictures at a record setting speed. These pay-per-season "services" always claim to have some unattainable insider information that amounts to their astonishing success percentages. Keep in mind that these vultures are no more credible than a used car salesman (no offense dad), or an investment advisor. If they did infact develop such a winning formula then why would they sell it to you? They would keep it for themselves to make a fortune. These betting advisors would keep their top secret confidential insider information, hop on their private jet and fly to Vegas to place legal bets with their own money and 67% success rates to make a fortune. By selling all of their secret information they would only inflate the line essentially shooting themselves in the foot, making it a lot more difficult to walk up to the cash-out kiosk. For all we know they are offering one tip while betting the opposite increasing the odds in their favor by inflating the lines. However, that is not a proven statement, this is just my opinion... I try my hardest to give my readers the most accurate and unbiased opinion I can. However, at the end of the day it is your money so trust your instinct and make your own decisions.
