Mine Manager's Home

This was the Mine Manager's home that my aunt and uncle purchased in Joggins Nova Scotia after she retired from the Bell. They bought this home back in the early 70's for a price of about $5,000.00. It had many of the original furnishing in the house. The home had two living rooms, a huge dining room and I remember a bathroom (that had just a tub) that they actually could put a double bedroom set in and still have room to have a dance in. They purchased the home to open a bed and breakfast but never did do that. They sold the home some years later, I asked if they would sell it to me for what they paid for back when they bought it but instead sold it for a much higher price.

This is what I get for not checking out the team websites before going to the games. The Worcester Tornado manager is former Red Sox catcher Rich Gedman. He's a little before my time (his last full season with the Sox was in '89... I was 4), so my dad spent part of the game explaining to me how whacked-out his swing was and all that. Still, I would've liked to know he was gonna be there before the game, because while I may not have really seen him play, I do have a couple of his old baseball cards from his Sox days, and I'm sure he would've gotten a kick outta signing one.
