More than just a woodstove, this multi-mode heating appliance can be operated as an airtight stove, a central wood "furnace" with a fan-forced air stream through special double wall baffles, or as a fireplace with doors open or removed and the optional spark screeen installed. This appliance will completely heat the home (except for the basement), but the home features dual redundant heating systems, with a full complement of electric baseboard heaters (including in the basement) independently capable of maintaining cozy temperatures on the coldest winter night without the stove. The electric heat is particularly useful for unattended heating, and the over-sized woodstove provides a quick warm-up of the interior during intermittent winter visits in a primarily seasonal (summer) occupancy scenario.
