Rigid Pipe Wrench
pipe wrench
- Screws pipes into elbows or other threaded devices. Jaws actually bite into the surface to hold it for turning. They should never be used on plated pipe installations because they will badly mar the finish.
- adjustable wrench for gripping and turning a pipe; has two serrated jaws that are adjusted to grip the pipe
- The pipe wrench, or Stillson wrench is an adjustable wrench used for turning soft iron pipes and fittings with a rounded surface. The design of the adjustable jaw allows it to rock in the frame, such that any forward pressure on the handle tends to pull the jaws tighter together.
rigid
- Not able to be changed or adapted
- incapable of or resistant to bending; "a rigid strip of metal"; "a table made of rigid plastic"; "a palace guardsman stiff as a poker"; "stiff hair"; "a stiff neck"
- incapable of compromise or flexibility
- Unable to bend or be forced out of shape; not flexible
- inflexible: incapable of adapting or changing to meet circumstances; "a rigid disciplinarian"; "an inflexible law"; "an unbending will to dominate"
- (of a person or part of the body) Stiff and unmoving, esp. as a result of shock or fear

It is a 60" chrome plated pipe wrench donated by the Rigid tool company in 1967. They come out to Canada every year and this year i decided to get some shots of them.
Rigid Pipe Wrench Fail
While the end of the world came and went for all of us Sunday, the prophecy held true for this pipe wrench. It was a bad weekend for me and machines -- in addition to this, my Thinkpad also broke.
