St. Mary's Basilica

Built in 1902 in the Mission/Spanish Revival style. It's the oldest Roman Catholic parish in Phoenix. Pope John Paul II visited Phoenix in 1987 and he said Mass and then greeted throngs of people from the noted balcony. I had the honor of seeing him at the Civic Center across the street when he spoke to a group of health care professionals.
